La Reserve Repeat Guest Reviews
Shalom All,
La Reserve is like our home away from home in Philadelphia. We park on South Street & walk down to La Reserve. Eddie welcomes us with cookies waiting. The B&B is close to theaters, museums, restaurants, & shopping. We prefer to stay in the Grande Dame or Hunt suites. My wife likes her bath ?. The beds are comfortable. One of the highlights is Chris’s breakfast, omelets, waffles, or French toast. Maria is always pleasant. She remembers to have turkey sausage for us.
We highly recommend LaReserve B & B.

La Reserve is a unique one of a kind B&B located just off Rittenhouse Square, in Philadelphia, PA. The manager, Maria, and her staff greet my wife and me by our first names. The bedrooms and executive suites are first-rate with lovely furniture and showers. The executive suites come with a full kitchen and living room. These two houses (the B&B) have old world charm and beauty. The weekend's full breakfast is served in a formal dining room which includes a variety of menu choices, cooked by a seasoned chef. During the week a very nice continental breakfast is provided in the formal dining room. The location is conveniently located to many restaurants, shops, filled with tree-lined streets which makes for a nice walking historic city. The formal living room includes a daily newspaper, a piano, and comfortable seatings to relax in.

It is a pleasure to offer my view of La Reserve, where I have regularly stayed during the academic semesters in the last few years. My experience has always been most pleasant, the staff attentive and the management very responsive to my needs and requests. I would certainly recommend it to anyone, indeed I often have to my colleagues at Penn.

La Reserve is our home away from home in Philly. It is a delight in every way, and perfectly located for taking in our World Heritage City's many charms. We enjoy it so much that we are often loathed to talk about La Reserve for fear that it will cease being the best-kept secret in the city of brotherly love!

We moved from Colorado to Philadelphia in Fall 2018. We bought an apartment on Rittenhouse Square and decided to renovate it before we moved in. After we bought the apartment we often stayed at La Reserve while the contractors were working on our apartment renovations. The two most recent times we stayed there consisted of a 20-night stay followed by an 18-night-stay. We had not initially anticipated that the move into our apartment would be so delayed, and La Reserve was booked for the 24-night intermediate period between these two stays, so instead, we stayed at a nearby hotel during that intermediate period.
We loved staying at La Reserve (and preferred it to the hotel), and we considered La Reserve our home-away-from-home. On these two occasions, we stayed at the Saratoga Executive Suite, which is very spacious and comfortable. Because it is on the ground floor, we didn’t have to climb any stairs with our suitcases. It has a fully equipped kitchen, so we could cook food and did not need to eat our meals at restaurants. The La Reserve breakfasts were delicious, especially the special ones on the weekends (where I often ordered my favorite of two poached eggs on an English muffin), and the afternoon cookies and tea were also a treat. The wifi was perfect at La Reserve, and much more reliable than the wifi at the hotel. The La Reserve staff members were very friendly and accommodating. For example, we asked for extra hangers on each occasion, and they were quickly delivered to us. The location on Pine Street is also convenient to Rittenhouse Square and to many taxis who travel down Pine Street. We highly recommend La Reserve, and if we ever need to stay away from our apartment again, we will certainly return to La Reserve. Also, if we cannot accommodate all of our guests in our apartment, we will recommend that they stay at La Reserve. The price is very reasonable (especially with the 15% extended-stay discount), and the amenities are great.

La Reserve is by far my favorite place to stay when I am in Philadelphia! It has so much to offer!
First, it’s a beautiful Bed and Breakfast consisting of two buildings: one offers the more traditional B&B rooms, all of them beautifully decorated in a style matching the era when these homes were built; the second offers apartments that are also decorated in wonderful ways that make you feel right at home. I almost always stay in the Chatham apartment, and have been there many many times! And I have stayed up to a month and never felt anything was lacking!
Of course, I have to mention that it is located in my favorite neighborhood in Philadelphia. Trust me, you couldn’t ask for a more convenient neighborhood for restaurants and museum visiting or heading towards the University of Pennsylvania! In addition, it is in a truly elegant neighborhood, walking down Delancey Street, right next door is an unforgettable experience!
Finally, this B&B is expertly run by very competent and VERY friendly people! They are like family to me when I stay there! They offer delicious breakfast on the weekend and a nice continental breakfast during the week.
It’s definitely one of Philadelphia’s treasures!

We discovered La Reserve several years ago and this has become our home away from home! Even after our college kids moved away from Philadelphia we continue to visit just to enjoy La Reserve. The buildings are gorgeous and the rooms and suites so clean and beautiful. And the staff truly makes us feel like family each time we return. Be sure to enjoy the delicious breakfast served to order in the main house dining room. This is a very special place!

If you’re considering this property, book it now!!! This was our first time staying in a B&B and we weren’t disappointed. While I loved the beautiful historic row houses the comprise the B&B, my two favorite things were the very personable staff and the amazing made-to-order breakfast in the formal dining room. Maria is a kind, attentive and gracious inn keeper with a vast knowledge of the local area. We arrived here hours before check in. Maria not only stored our luggage but she took it to our room. She gave us restaurant recommendations and offered to call to make reservations. The chef is very good. Breakfast on Sunday was wonderful and included made-to-order omelettes or crepes, sausage, bacon, toast, coffee, juice and cereal. Loved everything.

This is Julia Endrizzi and my husband and I stayed at La Reserve this weekend and it was such a lovely time! We were so impressed at the character, location, and overall quality of our room. The breakfast was so delicious and fresh. It was great to be given options as well. We will definitely be staying there again! Thank you for being so kind and welcoming. What a great weekend!
Best,, Julia
The breakfast was excellent, with freshly prepared options, as it was a weekend. The building is relatively old but the facilities are very comfortable. Although our room has a shared bathroom, there was no setback, very clean, with good amenities. Very willing and friendly staff. Some difficulty finding a parking space on the street, but with private (expensive) parking spaces nearby.

Excellent B&b. Thoroughly recommended. Much nicer experience than a hotel. Warm welcome, lovely big room, very good breakfast and great location.

Extremely Memorable BnB!
Just absolutely gorgeous Bed and Breakfest nestled in a beautiful & historic part of Philly, close to many tourist attractions. We were blown away by how welcoming and attentive the staff was. It felt like from the moment we checked in we were treated like family. The inn manager, Maria especially went out of her way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. During the weekend they make a killer breakfast that feels like restaurant quality. When we went they had swiss pancakes with fruit and bacon or a veggie omelet, both excellent! I assume it changes weekly. Weekdays have a continental breakfast which was still FAR better than you see at most hotels and still included a really good frittata. They were scheduling timeslots for meals (2 rooms at a time) as a covid pre-caution which was really nice (even though everyone we met was vaccinated). I enjoyed sitting and chatting with the other guests. We were in the Independence Suite (Included the bathroom), it was very quiet and peaceful the whole time. I cannot recommend this place enough! Support small businesses when traveling!

Beautiful hotel
This hotel is one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. the rooms were massive - a very large bedroom with really tall callings, a beautiful bathroom and amazing living room with a kitchen. Everything was spotless. I loved the decorations - so homely. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to book us taxis, welcome us and make sure we knew where we were going. they also managed to extend our stay to late check out at late notice even though they were almost full. Really couldn’t recommend this place enough, especially if you are travelling in hotels for a while and want to feel like you are at home in your own apartment.

What can I say about this place besides that it was one of the most comfortable and authentic places I have stayed in?
The house is in the heart of Philadelphia and is the perfect walking distance to many different neighborhoods and attractions, as well as amazing restaurants. All of the staff are so friendly and nice to talk to if you have any questions or just want to chat! I stayed for a week and the owner was so sweet asking me if I needed anything, as well as letting me use the fridge. I felt very comfortable there with the staff as well as the room being very clean. The water for the shower was nice and hot, and being there in the winter, the place was surprisingly very warm for being an historical home. The breakfast every morning was also one of the best I have ever had! The bagels are fresh and handmade, and the fruit juices are super yummy. I will definitely being staying here again when I come back!Finnian Reyes-Skindziel
We had a group of 8 that came together for a weekend trip to Philly. La Reserve is in a perfect location, walking distance to so much, just off Rittenhouse Square. Lots of restaurants nearby, historical sites, and a beautiful residential street. I stayed in the Rittenhouse Suite and loved the spaciousness and the bed was so comfortable and the shower so relaxing. They have the "bed" side of the bed and breakfast down pat. And the breakfast did not disappoint either. We thought it would be a buffet type breakfast but instead it was a cooked to order meal. The chef knows how to make a damn fine breakfast...bacon was delish, everything was great. Our stay was wonderful. Thank you Maria.

This is a great location with comfortable rooms and kind staff. I'd recommend it for people who appreciate a lodging experience that's got character, rather than the cookie cutter cubes offered at chain hotels.
I'm really glad that I found this B&B to stay at! The staff is really sweet and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. You can also easily get wherever you need to go.
We were in town for the Flower Show. La Reserve was just a 15 minute walk from 30th Street Station, and the walk from the B&B to the convention center isn't much more.
I think this kind of property (B&B, independent, etc.) attracts a conscientious kind of traveler. So, do NOT be put off if you have to share a bathroom with other guests. (Or book a suite, if it means that much to you.) The staff keep things very clean, and seasoned travelers will act accordingly.
We stayed in Liberty, and were glad to find that an incongruent TV/multi-media installation wasn't shoe-horned in with the old pictures, restored floors, etc. (If you want to watch anything, they have WiFi and you probably have a phone. Problem solved!) It helped us just chill the hell out and be with one another.
Again, this place is solid and I will look here first the next time I come to Philly.

I cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my stay here with my S/O. This is a small B&B that feels like HOME in the middle of the city. The property welcomes all (Families, LGBT people, etc) which was so so nice. Breakfast is provided and prepared by the manager, Maria and some other staff. It was absolutely delicious and the dining room is so cute and cozy!
The location situated on Pine St right off of Rittenhouse Square, the location is PERFECT and gives you easy access to lots of restaurants, bars, shops, and the gayborhood.
The Room, we stayed in the Chateau Room on the second floor. Spacious, high ceilings, lovely french inspired decor. Shared bathroom with one other room on that floor was not a problem at all, and the bathroom shower was HOT and had everything one would expect. Open the cathedral window inside the shower to let some steam out.
The Management, Maria was an absolute dream of an operator. She welcomed us warmly at check in and gave us a printout with all of the necessary information regarding the property and how to access the front door after hours etc. A passionate woman with a kind heart and a real love for her business. Please be kind to her and her business, as it is obvious she puts her entire being into making it a success.
Overall an experience that I would absolutely 100% prefer over any corporate hotel chain stay. Do yourself a favor and reserve a room at La Reserve on your next Philly visit!

Stayed here the past two nights with my girlfriend and couldn't have had a better experience. The innkeeper and staff were incredibly hospitable—you can tell they genuinely care about your experience and don't just put on some fake customer service attitude like you'd receive at a normal hotel. Breakfast delicious too. No clu how this place manages to have such low room costs as I had a better time than any other hotel I've been to. Thanks guys!!

This bed and breakfast is absolutely charming. The room we stayed in was huge, very affordable, squeaky clean, and- most importantly- felt like a home rather than a hotel. The owner/manager Maria worked so hard to make sure that we were happy and informed, as we were arriving after hours and needed to key ourselves in. All of the comforts of home were there for us, and the property was convenient to the parking garage (which also had great rates) and downtown. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and I slept like a rock! Breakfast was included with our stay, and the front desk attendant (I did not get his name) was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back the next time we’re in Philadelphia...check this place out!!
